All the cloud providers are good right? Cheap services, heck you even get free credits…
But the biggest cost trap seems to be SQL…
I had the opportunity to use the Google Cloud (using free credits $300 + $100 {extra}:
Guess what… MYSQL ATE ALL THE CREDITS
Even though I never made huge load on it, eg. there were no queries to the database, it was just on!
it ate all the credits!
So yeah… Well…
ITS A TRAP … Use a VM and run own SQL Server! At least for development…
So, Again: CLOUD SQL IS A TRAP!
ALL THE SQL/DB special instances are pricey if you’re not using those as a production service.
